How to clear customs of goods from China in Ukraine: procedure and cost of the procedure
The Republic of China is today one of the largest importers of our country. In addition to its own industry, it is home to the production facilities of well-known European manufacturers. Entrepreneurs, legal entities and individuals are often interested in the customs clearance procedure and the specifics of its passage, as well as the terms and the final amount of expenses incurred.
Customs clearance methods used
Goods and vehicles can be cleared by one of the following two methods:
- 1. Clearance on generally accepted terms – if you plan to sell the received products in the future. The process is quite laborious and lengthy, as you need to collect and register a large amount of documentation for declaring goods at customs. However, you receive products that have legally crossed the border, with official confirmation.
- 2. Simplified scheme - works well for items imported for personal use or for small batches of goods. Its main advantages are simplicity, low cost, minimum documentation, high speed of processing. Among the disadvantages are significant risks of being caught in fraud (for entrepreneurs or legal entities).
The main document that is filled out when clearing goods imported from China is a customs declaration. To avoid errors and paperwork, and to reduce the time for document processing, we suggest contacting our company's specialists for import and export clearance of goods.
Step-by-step description of the customs clearance process
When crossing the Ukrainian border, goods from China are subject to mandatory inspection. It takes place in several stages:
- 1. Checking the accompanying documentation (certificates, invoices, waybills, etc.);
- 2. Actual verification of the cargo - how much the real goods correspond to the description in the documents.
- 3. Passing currency control.
- 4. Reconciliation of foreign economic activity documents: contract, registration at the place of arrival, etc.
- 5. Control over the payment of customs duties and payments (including accrued penalties for late payments). All types of payments are made in the Ukrainian national currency (hryvnia).
If you have successfully passed all the checkpoints, you will receive the long-awaited stamps in the declaration and a written permit to import goods from China.
